Driving Tours
The Russian River Valley abounds with charming small towns and gently rolling hills covered with vineyards, apple trees and native oaks. The roadways tend to be two-lane, the kind you like to linger on, intrigued by what might be around the next corner. Wineries pepper the area; some are open daily and some by appointment, so check our wineries listing to see if you need to call ahead.
We have five suggested driving tours listed to the left — each encompassing several wineries — allowing you to make the most of your time. We hope they help you enjoy your stay here in our special part of the world.
No matter the winery tours you choose, you’ll find the countryside of the Russian River Valley filled with beauty and adventure at every turn. Rural Highway 116 Winery Tour Hanna Winery Balletto Vineyards Dutton-Goldfield Winery, LLC Dutton Estate Winery/Sebastopol Vnyds Marimar Estate Vineyards & Winery Lynmar Estate at Quail Hill Vineyard Iron Horse Vineyards River Road Cellars Kozlowski Farms Hartford Family Winery Highway 116 runs northwest from Cotati through Sebastopol, Graton, Forestville, Monte Rio and Guerneville, before following the Russian River out to the Pacific Ocean. On Occidental Road just outside the town of Sebastopol you will find Hanna Winery (yes, there is also one in the Alexander Valley), and the Balletto & Dutton-Goldfield shared tasting room. In and around Graton are the tasting rooms for Dutton Estate-Sebastopol Vineyards, Marimar Estate, Graton Ridge and Lynmar Winery. Between Graton and Forestville are the tasting rooms for Iron Horse and River Road Cellars, and Kozlowski Farms and Deli. As you travel northwest on Highway 116, just on the other side of Forestville off of Highway 116 on Martinelli Road is Hartford Family Wines.
