Foundation
The Russian River Valley Winegrowers Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)3 charitable foundation. The purpose of the corporation is to engage in, encourage, and support agriculture education and to carry on other educational and charitable activities related to that purpose, as allowed by law.
One of the exciting projects of the Foundation is the 2004 Lion’s Pride Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. Under the winemaking guidance of Merry Edwards and assisted by the viticulture students at El Molino High School, the grapes were harvested in 2004, crushed at Taft Street Winery and bottled. Only 6 barrels of this wine were made. Half of the proceeds from wine sales go to the agriculture/viticulture program to help educate our future vintners and growers to assure the future of our region.
